Topic: Addressing Climate Change through Sustainable Living Practices

Our guest: Dr. Bassam Shafiq Tawabini.

Dr Tawabini is a water and environmental science and engineering specialist with more than 35 years of experience in academia, research, training and consultancy. He is currently an Associate Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his PhD degree in civil engineering in 2002 and is leading the Master Program in Environmental Sciences, and teaching many graduate and undergraduate courses related to environment and sustainability. His research focuses on developing novel and cost-effective technologies for the removal of different organic and inorganic contaminants from water. Dr Tawabini published over 150 scientific papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings and received 7 US patents.

Climate change is a pressing issue that requires collective action. In this engaging talk, Dr. Bassam Shafiq Tawabini will define environment, ecology and biodiversity, helping us understand the climate crisis and greenhouse gases implications. Join us as we explore practical solutions to reduce our individual carbon footprint, promote sustainable consumption, and understand our roles as individual in protecting the environment.
